Centrifugal pump selection factors. How to select a Centrifugal pump ?

When necessitate a Centrifugal pump normally goes to a shop to purchase a pump as per recommendation of the technicians .But this is very important to select your Centrifugal pump by analyzing properly for its long life. So, what are the factors to select a centrifugal pump? There are some basic ideas as bellow:

1). Fluid excellence: This is the most important factor when selecting a pump in order to avoid corrosion and unnecessary wear and tear on your pump. You need to know the viscosity of the fluid to be pumped. High viscosity fluids require more strong pumping equipment. 

2). Flow rate or discharge rate: Normally this is measured in m3/hour. Remember that a higher flow rate means a larger pump size is needed.

3). Temperature: How hot will the fluid you are pumping be? This will affect which pump materials are best suited for your application.

5). Pressure or Head: This is a very important parameter during selecting your .measure your total head including friction loss and finalize your requirements .mind it if you purchase a high pump with high heat than requirements, your pump will deliver more water than requirements ,results huge amps consumed by motor and after a certain time motor will be tripped or burn out. 

6) Net positive suction head (NPSH): This is an important issue which should ensure to minimize cavitation in pump. Must know the suction requirements and its distance.
